Best Day Ever!

Today is one of the BEST days ever!!
Scott and Brianne arrived this evening for a quick visit!!
They are here until Sunday evening!!
And to top it all off Bretty came home from school tonight and met us for dinner and is spending the night. I have all of my 'kids' under one roof!!
It is so much fun to be all together again. I love to listen to them talk and just watch how close they are to each other. I am so blessed that they are not only brother and sister and brother, but best friends.
I know I will be all sappy and silly and the kids will go crazy and give me lots of grief-but I don't care I am just so glad to see them.
I hope to take lots of pictures and store up lots of hugs-let them go crazy because of my silliness-life is short and we have to enjoy what we can when we can, and be thankful for the blessings God gives!!

Bretty's Home!!

Brett is home for a few days for Thanksgiving break!! We sure have missed having him here. Daisy especially!! She thinks she is a 55 lb. lap dog.
Basketball and school have kept Brett super busy, and he has really gotten fit, he has lost 25 lbs!!
The 'boys' went out yesterday to try to find some tall straight trees to place their tree stands. Deer season is just around the corner and they want to be ready!! Last year Brian put up his stand and horror of horrors, the honor code amongst hunters was broken!! He went to check it before opening day and someone had stolen it, so now they lock them down tight. I guess they will if they can find a place to put them!!
This morning they were up bright and early bird hunting. Do you note a recurring theme--HUNTING.
To welcome Brett home I had to give Daisy a treat. For some very gross and sick reason she loves armpits, yes pits, gross I know but what can I say?? She also LOVES peanut butter--so I managed to sneak up on Brett and smear a little PB in his pit. Daisy went crazy and Brett giggled like a little girl.
I never really get one up on him so now let's just say I am watching my back for retaliation.
P.S.
Fall has come just in time for Thanksgiving, Monday it was 79 and sunny, Tuesday 70 and today 36 and cloudy-Brrrr-we even had a tiny bit of frozen mist!!

I will have to write about our Thanksgiving after tomorrow, we are expecting 6 of Brett's B-Ball buddies and yesterday Brian picked up our own home raised just for us Turkey. It was alive yesterday morning-hmmm

Traffic!!

OK!! I have now been living in Kansas since April 2005 and today was the FIRST time I was in slow traffic on the freeway!! I went into Wichita this afternoon for a much needed haircut and hit rush hour traffic on the way home. Really it was dreadful--I sat in slow(30 mph) or a bit of stop and go traffic for 10-15 minutes!!! The agony of it all!! Then it was back to 70 mph and clear all the way home.
Good thing I have a fun new car to help me handle all the stress!!

Whew!! Home

What a wonderful time I had working back with Dr. Rossi and gang! Dr. John sorry about the dent-it should be better by now!!
It kept me out of Nordstrom-no shopping for me this trip.

Since I have been home I don't think I have a moments rest-whew!
I picked up my new little car Saturday night, and even though it is not a manual transmission I LOVE it.

Sunday was a full day at church and I got my first homework assignment-27 jackets to embroider for the Tabor girls Basketball team-no problem-except they needed them by Oct. 31st! I delivered them and got to see Brett's townhouse. The townhouses are beautiful & brand new! My tour was REALLY quick, although I did have time to slightly clean the bathroom--icky.

Grandma's house is done, her appliances have been delivered, boxes moved to the garage, garage door opener installed, her new bedroom stuff should arrive on Tuesday so I guess we'll see!!!!
She is feeling a little bit better, they couldn't get a piece of the mass in her lung to biopsy, but what they got looked good and she will have another CT in Dec.

Brett got some really hard news----seems due to a shortage of full time credit hours he will be ineligible to play for the 1st semester. He is still practising and traveling with the team, it is really a big loss not only to him but for the team! He is one of their BIG MEN and is looking at alot of playing time once he is eligible.
I keep thinking back to his SR. year and that broken wrist that occured right before playoffs-this kid has had to learn character in tough situations.
More to follow soon!!

Please check out www.currans.eachday.com for more news and some fun pictures!!

Almost Home!!

My time here in Seattle, well Renton actually, is coming to an end. I work 2 more days, I have Friday off and then will come home on Saturday!! I have had a great time, really most of the time I have been working. I came to fill in for one of Dr. Rossi's hygienists, she got married last Saturday. We all had a super time at the wedding! All us girls danced the night away!!

I got in town last Tuesday at 11:30pm and was at work Wednesday morning at 7:30!! It has been great working with my friends, and Dr.John and seeing my former patients. My friend Paulette even came back to work to help fill in, so really it was like oId times!! I have stayed with several friends and the kids, everyone has been so hospitable, but I must admit I'll be glad not to be living out of my suitcase and sleeping in my own bed soon!!

I did sell my Contour-sniff-but she has a great home and when I get home I will pick up my new car!!!
I decided on the Mazda 6 GT. It was the only one left of the 07's and it is red. I loved the little 3GT but it was pretty small and my guys are big and I want them to be comfy if they ever drive with me!! The 6 has more power and a smoother ride so I think I will be very Happy with it!!

Just a few days left and soon I will click my heels and be home!

Very Scary!!

I am about to do something I HAVE never done before-pick out and purchase my own car. I have never ever really had much say about the car I have driven.
My first car was a green Ford Fairlane station wagon, very safe, very big. Dad gave it to me for several months but then gave it to his girlfriend with the promise that he would help me with a down payment for another car. Well I was excited to let Dixie have the wagon, I had hopes of a 1965 Ford Mustang running thru my head. I found one it was beautiful, root beer brown and in great condition, but not safe for a girl. So Dad picked out a pea-green 1974 Ford Pinto wagon. You know the ones that were actually car bombs in disguise if hit just right! Yes-- My dream car-not. Several months later when my brother Lane turned 16 he got a '65 electric blue mustang. Yes I was envious, even more so when it got totalled and he got another one!!!!
I drove that Pinto off the lot, never having driven a manual transmission mind you, jerk -stop- stall, jerk- stop- stall. Dad did keep his promise and put $500 down on it and I made the $100 car payments all the way thru high school and after I got married! Brian drove it away from the church the day we were married, jerk- stop- stall, all over again! We drove that car until the seat rusted out from the floor and it only started on a prayer.
Brian came home one day with a Ford Escort. Safer for baby Brianne than the Jeep truck he drove. Then came the Ford Taurus Wagon, are you seeing a trend?? The Ford Aerostar mini-van that caught fire and burned to the ground-recalled ignition. The Mercury Sable (upgrade!) Wagon, and then the Mercury Tracer which Brianne inherited, when I got my Ford Contour 10 years ago!!
So NO more Ford cars for me. I am ready to move on and get what I like, very daunting that!!
Car dealerships SCARE me to death. I have driven Subaru's, Brian is fond of the Legacy.
Nissan's, I like the coupe he likes the Altima sedan. And Mazda's, I like the m3GT, he doesn't fit in their little coupe, unless the sunroof is open-could be a problem!
So for now the search is on, Maybe I will make a decision before I leave to come to Seattle next week!!

Nice Shiner

Things have settled down a bit in the Curran Household. Grandma is home from the hospital, she will see a lung specialist this next week. Her house is progressing nicely!! Took a little tour today and all is well.

Brett took an elbow to the eye last Monday, LOTS of BLOOD and eight stitches later he is almost as good as new! He only took one day off from conditioning. We sure do miss him, he sure is having fun-HMMM - I know there is a correlation there somewhere!!

I am preparing for some Seattle friends next weekend--YAY.

I am also preparing for another trip back!!! I get to come back for another visit Oct. 9-20.

I will be working for Dr. Rossi while his hygiene staff is out of the office for a mission trip and a honeymoon!! So LUCKY me I get to come up for another visit.!!

Pray for Grace

It has been BUSY since Brian's Mom got here. Right at the time she came we found out Brett was leaving off to school-he is TIRED, BUSY, but is very happy w/his choice. I 'look' forward to doing his stinky b-ball laundry every Sunday.

Brian's Mom fell out on our walkway in Aug. After an day of ice (didn't work) and a visit to the ER we found out she needed surgery to repair the radial cap at her elbow that fractured-ouch! She got well enough and had surgery the 5th of Sept.& had a nice titanium cap placed on her bone. Her arm works great and has very little Pain!!!! Back to the ER on the 9th w/pneumonia. She had a little rally, but yesterday, Sunday took a turn for the worse. Back to the ER (they know us now after my several visits, and hers!) We found she has at least one pulminary embolism-very common after surgery, very serious. Brian is beside himself. She in the hosp. getting great care and we are hoping it resolves soon. Hard to see her struggle to breathe, something we take for granted. We would apprieciate your prayers. So hard for her to leave her home, friends, schedule and be thrown into all this chaos. No pictures, she still has a black eye from the fall so how about this peaceful vision!! Sometimes Storms come in Life!

Thirsty??

I was inspired today while at the gym. I realized how much I love my water. You see I have this little ritual, each night before I go to bed I pack my gym bag, saves me time in the morning when I always seem to be rushed. Make sure the clothes are in there, the towel, reading material, Ipod charging and water in the fridge to grab on the way out of the house.

Well now with all the news about all those water bottles filling up the landfills I have been refilling my bottle and using it again. Don't like to, cause then I have to wash it out -because eww, the germs! And somehow it just doesn't taste the same don't know why but it just doesn't.

The best is when I stick it in the freezer and it is ice water by the afternoon-ahhh!

Well today I noticed how many people don't bring H2O when they work out, they use the fountain. Sounds weird but I don't like the fountain much-again with the germs!!

Well I was very thirsty today after my work out and I have found that nothing tastes better than ice cold water, not Iced Tea, Coke, Lemon aid, but Just Plain Ole' Water.

I worked outside today in the sunny beautiful 95 degree day and there was my faithful tall glass of ice water, refreshing --YES--and quenches the thirst, sometimes underestimated this little ole' glass of water. Thirsty anyone?

A Little Introspective

Ok, Ok cut me a break!! It has been a little CRAZY here at the Curran Household this last 2 weeks.

I'm happy, sad, lonely, grateful, discouraged, encouraged, emotionally weary- yes that's it! and NO it is NOT hormonal!!!!

If 5 years ago someone had told me that I would be living in Newton Kansas with Brian's Mom living down the hall and Brett off at college playing Basketball, and Brian BUSY pastoring a church I would have thought they were crazy-and yet here we are!

I had my life planned out so differently. I imagined Brian pastoring in the Seattle area, me working in my comfy cozy job w/Dr Rossi and Brianne and Scott over for family dinners and special occasions with Brett finishing school nearby-well I did get that one right. I really miss all THAT and yet I know this is the right place for us for right NOW. I just miss the old.

3 years ago this November Brianne and Scott got married, what a wonderful day that was. My memories are so brilliant of the Happiness and Love of that day. 6 weeks later Brian loaded up the 'wonderful' Contour and headed for Kansas!! 12 weeks later Brett and I joined him. Gone were the chances of Sunday dinners at Torreos after Church. I am sure that Brianne and Scott are stronger for it, but I sorry to have missed out on so much of their lives. It drives her crazy that I cry almost every time I hear her sweet voice-Sorry it's a Mom thing.

Brian's Mom is staying with us while her house is being built(hurry workers, hurry). She will be right across the street so we can keep an eye out on her. Sheet rock is going up-that's a good sign. But the sad news is she had a BAD fall last week and really hurt herself. She has a black eye, is bumped and bruised and broke her elbow! She will have surgery on the 5th.

We helped Brett move into his dorm at Tabor on Sunday!! He is doing great-tired but great!. Classes have started and they are scrimmaging nightly. He came by tonight for 15 minutes to grab FOOD and a garbage can!! Miss him SO much, but I am so glad he has the wonderful opportunity to get a great education and play Ball!!

So Life goes on and we adjust and change and accept. God is in control, not me and I have to remember that EVERY day-I am thick headed and forget it or fight it so often!

Letdown??!

By now I should be licking my wounds or jumping for joy. The Triathlon we have been training so hard for was last weekend. Last Wednesday my teammate got a call to let us know that since so many folks had applied to participate, they had to set a limit and our team was CUT!!
All that training, I can't say it was a waste but, WOW!
It was a real disappointment, but also in a weird way a relief. Saturday it was 100+ degrees, no way to really prepare for that extreme heat.
So we are on the look out for another race, possibly Sept. or Oct. when it is a bit cooler, thus the training goes on and on and on..............I guess the lesson in this case is to keep going, hope Chucky and Chita don't get bored and will still cheer me on!

Bluejay in the Curran house!!

I go away a few weeks and WOW!!

Brett has been going to school faithfully partime and working fulltime since we moved here 2 years ago. Many of his credits from WA didn't transfer so basically he had to start over. Not happy news, but he did what it took and finished his A.A. this spring. He then applied to Tabor for their business school. He was able to take classes one night a week and some Saturdays. This allowed him to work and be at home. He has taken classes all summer. Not too much free time!

Several weeks ago he was at Tabor playing a pick up b-ball game and the new coach approached him and offered him a scholarship. It is a great offer!!
Tabor is an NAIA program that competes in the KCAC, Kansas Christian Athletic Conferance. It is a great private Christain College. So Brett is now off to Hillsboro, about 30 miles away to finish his business degree and play Ball! This offer came out of the blue and we are so excited that we get to watch him play again!

His good friend, Landon is the assistant ladies coach, he has a good friend playing on the ladies team, and he also has a good friend that will be a team mate.

Brian and I are trying to come to terms with being EMPTY nesters. Sounds sooo old.

I guess Grandma will keep us busy until her house is ready. Siding is up and they start roofing tomorrow!

Brianne's B-day is Sunday, she will be 27, they live so far away-or I guess we moved so far away. And now Bretty is going too.

Humm-what other hobbies can I think up or other chores for Brian?? Going to have to find new ways to keep busy! ;-)

Clicked my Heels and I'm Home!

I've been home now for a week, Had a great time in Seattle, and it was wonderful visiting with Bri and Scott and friends.

I was able to visit mom in Sequim, work 5 days (2 of those with my old gang at Dr. Rossi's) go to Dental Convention for 2 days, see lots of dear friends and help Brianne and Scott move into their new home!

They were so gracious and let me stay with them the 2nd week, really have missed them alot.

Overwhelmed by the traffic, wow, I guess I don't miss that! The beauty of all the green, trees and the water, really do miss that!

Hit the ground running here at home. Brian's mom is staying w/us while her house is being built. We can watch the progress right out our front window. We had our church state convention Thurs. and Fri. Thursday night we had a death of one of our church members family so Thursday was a REALLY late night,or if you like an early morning. During the evening service Friday at convention I tried w/ all my might ,but alas I could not stay awake. We of course were in the 2nd row and the speaker about 6 feet away. Brian kept elbowing me but to no avail. He was embarrassed -me too, but what can you do??

Visit http://currans.eachday.com/ for a few looks at our lives. Not a great photo taker, but you get the idea!

Back in Seattle!!

Busy day of flying, and sleeping, which is what I do best on planes, but now I am back in Seattle.
The first thing that hit me is ALL the traffic!! Yikes, have I been gone that long????
I have a wonderful friend who has lent me her car, great hosts whom have given me a bed, and now I am all set to get busy and and have some fun while I work, and learn, and catch up with friends.
Brianne and Scott are on their way HOME too!! Can't wait to see them. I extended my stay to 2 weeks so that I can see them and get my 'kids' fix before I fly back to KS.

Some Help!!

OK, I am working really hard. My legs hurt and because of the weather I haven't been in the pool for over a week now!! I am trying really hard to get some good work outs in before I head up to Seattle!!
The gym is very glamorous, no?

I got a little help from some friends, maybe you remember Chucky and his lovely bride Chita?

They cheer me on and don't laugh out loud at my workouts. Hmmm, but who knows what they say privately to one another??

Training!!!

I thought I knew how to swim, but no I don't. Swimming and playing in the lake or the ocean is WAY different than laps in the pool. Thankfully one of our friends is the assistant High School Girls Swim Team Coach!! Kathy has been gracious and is spending time in the pool helping Tressa and I prepare. Tressa is steady and strong- a great team mate. I don't know how to breathe and have a perioscope for a neck. Yesterday I had to practise (in the shallow end) putting my face in the water and blowing out and breathing in. Not moving mind you, just putting my face in the water-what a dork!

*****Tonight is the Relay for Life!!

We will be walking and running around the High School track to raise money for the American Cancer Society tonight from 7pm to 7 am. We had fun last year and what a wonderful cause!!

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

Yikes!!

I've had a monentary brain lapse of judgement. During an act of insanity I agreed to do a 'mini-triathalon'. 10 mile bike ride, 400 meter swim and 3 mile run. I am secretly HOPING my partner will decide we are foolish and not turn in the paperwork. I have too much pride, that would be stupidity, to be the 1st to chicken out, so I am training. Let ya know how it goes!!

P.S.The yellow is to let you know what a chicken I am.

UPS

I was at a little going away party last week. As I was eating my cheeseburger and sipping my lemonade a man came up to me and said " You are Lisa Curran and you live at 227 Victoria Rd."

"Yes, I do!" I replied -a bit shocked by the way! -I didn't know him and didn't know many folks at the party. He told me he was 'MY UPS man', I have the territory south of 1st street. He said he recognized me. Well, I said thank-you and very pleased to meet you, (but I don't think he gave me his name). I racked my brain trying to think of the last time I received something by UPS!! Can't remember-and what did I receive???Hummmm??

Well today wouldn't you know a UPS package was on my door step! Pyrex that Megan had sent here. I wonder if he was confused my Megan's name on the package, and I feel bad I wasn't here to receive it in person. But also a bit relieved because I don't know his name-and wouldn't have been able to greet him properly. Do they wear name badges, those men in brown???

Gardening

It sounds so refined 'gardening' but it is anything but. It is HARD work. I really have never liked it much, just the results and efforts of others. I truly admire those with beautiful lawns and gardens!!

Today after hitting the gym, I came home with the grand idea of working in the yard. Brian 'hates' it but knows it is a necessary evil chore.

So he tilled up a lovely 'bed' under our bedroom window while I weeded. Then I spread and raked topsoil and planted dahlias and wildflower seeds in our -"it is not a heart"- bed. We will wait and see what grows!!

Gardens are alot like life, full of weeds we have to get rid of, pruning that needs to be done, beauty that changes season to season. Each garden is different and each is full of potential-good and not so!!

I'm impatient, I want those seeds to germinate, grow and produce NOW!! Also I want not weeds to grow but lovely flowers.

The Lord knows the weeds in my life-ugh-so I will continue to weed and prune and sow seeds that will produce lovely acts of kindness, patience and love. Hard work is never in vain, but it is continual that's for sure!!

Handstands Anyone??

The last day of vacation I tried to teach Brett to do handstands, his legs are like trees-no kidding.

He has the heart but darn it not the coordination. Brian got some great pics of our efforts. Note - HE wasn't in the pool trying to upright those tree limbs Brett calls legs! Then he wanted to try the splits, are you CRAZY! Believe me when I say flexibility is not one of his many gifts. We decided STRENGTH is his greatest 'strong point' and he proved it by walking me around the pool. I know we looked like we were crazy but we had fun, and isn't that what counts??

Vacation

Last week we were in beautiful, sunny Mazatlan. Waking up to enjoy the ocean breeze and the lull of the surf while sipping coffee and lounging on our patio. Then strolling down to the pool, parking under an umbrella and reading or napping and sipping cool tropical elixirs, or diet coke with lime! Our biggest decision of the day was, where to go to eat dinner??

I love Mazatlan. Even after 15+ mission trips and several vacations I still will look forward to our next visit back. We were able to visit Pastor Daniel's church and see many friends. Yikes! My Spanish is RUSTY. Brian doesn't much enjoy the sun but endures it for me. Brett and I enjoyed the pool, I tried to teach him to do a handstand-WOW.

Vacation days move much too fast.

20 minutes

OK-by now you may have seen some of the pictures from the Greensburg Tornado. It is almost incomprehensible the destruction.
I have been trying to imagine what I would grab if I had the warning the folks in Greensburg had-20 minutes. "Take shelter" warnings although not everyday common are familiar to folks here.
This one I take to heart and head to shelter. What of my earthly possessions do I take, or have ready to take, in the heat of disaster?? All of us were home together Friday night, Bri and Scott are safe(earthquakes?) in Calif, so that's one less worry. Do I take picture discs? Have I downloaded them all? What is irreplaceable?
'Things' come and go. Family, Friends and Faith. That is what is important.
Over and over that is what we hear from our Greensburg neighbors.
Pray for them and for their strength as they have much ahead of them.
What would you take if you had 20 minutes???

Scary!!

Tornados are scary!! Last night a town about 100 miles from here was completely leveled by a tornado. The only thing left standing is a grain elevator. The whole town is homeless and really I mean everyone. The tornado was 1mile wide and did damage for 26 miles, 10 people lost their lives. The pictures on the news are shocking. Tonight more of the same-here it means wild wind and lots of humidity. We are fortunate to have NO twister activity, just warnings. This severe weather is supposed to last until Wed.

Mrs. Potter has moved in!

Mrs. Potter and her 5 babies have moved in under our flowering crab apple tree.
Thursday morning Brian was in the yard cleaning the turkey he shot. Yuk! Yes, the battle is over! Daisy bought him a little gift, she found a little bunny nest and laid a baby bunny at his feet next to one she had put there seconds before.
The bunnies are small about 4-5 inches and their eyes are not open yet. Daisy was so sweet and gentle the bunnies were unharmed and meowing. Brian put them back in the hole without touching them and contaminating them with human scent. Today they are still there and still making a ruckus! Mama visits in the evening.
Dalia and gladiolus planting has been delayed. :-)

Vacation Countdown!!

Hey!! It's been great hearing from all of you, I love the comments and the emails!! Daisy is feeling much better, in fact I wish I was feeling so spunky, and my surgery was 2 wks ago. I can't exercise for 2 more weeks-urgghh

We had a busy weekend-they ALL are busy-but this included a Dad's and Daughter's Night Out. We hosted it at our church. I was in charge of decorations and the desserts. Brian and Brett both spoke, they did a great job encouraging Dads to be involved in the lives of their daughters. For a small town and a small church it is amazing the trials and hurts some of these girls have faced. Several churches were involved and all in all it went well.

Well, OK, I did have a conflict with one 'gentleman' who felt one of our speakers wasn't appropriately attired (he was wearing jeans!). I stood my ground and felt saddened that his attitude is what chases so many away from church. They look at the outside and don't wish to see inside the person, the judgement and condemnation is horrifying and so ugly. It really shook me up.

But--- Vacation is 10 DAYS away!! We are going to Mazatlan Mexico
I can't wait to sit by the beautiful pool and read and sleep then sleep and read!
Brian doesn't like the sun but he graciously indulges my need for Mexico.

The last time we were there several years ago Brett and I were floating in the pool and saw the most awesome sight-a grizzly bear in a fuchsia thong! Now I don't want to sound judgemental, but I was glad when the staff asked him to put on some trunks. (ha ha!
I went shopping for a new swimsuit-Yikes-for the first time ever I have a 2 piece-I hope the staff doesn't come to me and send me to change :-)

The boys are on the quest for a turkey. It is spring turkey season. It seems the entire town wants to help Brian and Brett shoot a turkey. They call in with turkey sightings and one little girl in church is praying for Pastor to shoot a turkey-in fact they run wild in her yard and she wants to catch one and tie it up so he can come over and shoot it!! I think it's a little crazy.

Jakes (male turkeys) have beards and the length of the beard is the sign of valor. The one Brian shot last fall had a beard about 1.5 inches. Brett's friend got one on opening day with a 9 inch beard--hmmmmm
I wasn't going to use the picture of Brett in his 'gear' but didn't know how to remove it!!

Daisy Had Surgery

Big Day in the Curran household our dog Daisy Mae had her 'lady surgery'.
We really wanted her to have puppies, but she is a small dog and we thought it might have been too difficult for her.
Daisy is Brian's pup. She is 16 months old and spent the first year 24/7 with him.
She hunts, she is smart and adored by ALL. I feel a 'little' jealous.
Now to save $ Brian was considering taking her to the Humane Soc. for her surgery!! Brett and I were Aghast. No offense to the H.S. but wow- Daisy is his baby. He did the right thing and took her to our trusted friendly Vet.
She is now at his feet on a pillow being hand feed and watered.
I've had 3 surgeries this year and I don't think I was hand fed once--hmmm, but then again I don't hunt and fetch up dead birds--go figure!

Twister Season now open

Ok! Maybe this is kinda lame for me to post a blog, but I really am bad about keeping in touch with everyone back 'home'.
Last week was my 2 year anniversary of being a 'kansan' and I can say in ALL honesty that I really like it here!! Beautiful sunsets (haven't made many sunrises) that stretch horizon to horizon, and so much sunshine!! My commute is 5 min. hardly time for one song let alone a whole CD like before. And well - the folks round here are just plain nice.
Tornado season has begun. April 9th it was 85 degrees and then on the 13th we had 6 inches of snow! These weather changes, hot air cold air are perfect breeding grounds for twisters. In fact we are under a WATCH right now and have had about 15 touch downs in the last week. Not near Newton, but in Kansas.
Last Saturday was the High School Prom. WOW! The community turns out to watch the kids enter-think red carpet. Some came on horses, in carriages, Antique firetrucks, an ice cream truck, bass boat and 5th wheeler, anyway you get the idea. It was great. The theme was Pirates of the Caribean so of course there were pirate valets and escorts.
I have to go and bake like 10 dozen sugar cookies-
Miss you all-I am coming for a visit in July--yeah!!
